With the new year also comes new goals that we set for ourselves. “I’m going to start exercising,” “I’m going to eat healthier,” “I’m going to find a new hobby,” and many more promises we make to ourselves for the next 365 days. Some of them we follow, others not so much, but we still manage to achieve something new with each passing day. But have you thought about your skincare routine? Do you apply it thoroughly every day, does it need to change anything, is it good enough for your skin type? This year, put another goal on your bucket list – a new skincare plan. In this article, we will help you create a new planner filled with the necessary steps that should be present in the use of cosmetics and items on your skin.
1. Define your goals
First of all, determine what you are aiming for. This will help you choose products to include in your routine. Removing acne, achieving an even skin tone, removing fine lines – these are among the common problems for which a solution is sought in cosmetics. But you can set another goal depending on how you want to look.
2. Wash your face regularly
One of the most often overlooked steps is washing your face. Even if you
didn’t wear make-up, the dust floating in the air, sweating, sebum secretion, and other natural processes clog the pores and the face must be well cleansed so that the products you apply afterward have the maximum effect. This is an important step both at night, before bed, and in the morning, before applying any cosmetics and make-up.
3. Exfoliate
Facial exfoliation is a procedure in which dead skin is removed, as a result of which it becomes smoother, softer, and cleaner. Although it’s among the most important steps, studies show that almost half of women skip exfoliating as part of their routine. Use an exfoliating product at least once a week.
4. Use your products in the right order
Using the products in the right order is also quite important, as most of them have different consistencies and their effect on the skin is different for everyone. Following the correct order makes it easier to use and absorb the given products, as well as enhances their effect. You can read more about the correct order of applying cosmetics, the morning and night routine, here.
5. Use masks
For hair, face, or body – masks are always in your favor. The use of masks 1-2 times a week has a beneficial effect on the skin, both in the short and long term. It is important to know what type of skin you have and to choose the right ones.
6. Keep your materials clean
The foundation sponge, face towel, make-up brushes are the objects that can most often become breeding grounds for bacteria in a short time. With their use, all these germs get into the pores of the face, which leads to acne breakouts and skin problems. Wash your brushes often and change your face cloth every two days.
7. Try not to touch your face
Frequently touching the skin with unclean hands is a harmful habit that you need to get rid of. Picking sores or pimples, touching the face with dirty hands, rubbing the eyes – these are actions that are often done unconsciously. However, they are quite harmful to the skin of the face.
Picking can lead to irritation and redness of the skin, dirty hands carry bacteria into the pores and lead to acne, and rubbing the eyes causes wrinkles to appear around the area. Avoiding these actions will visibly improve your appearance.
8. Be regular
After a long day at the office or a night out with friends, we all dream of getting some sleep as soon as we get home. We often neglect facial cleansing and go to bed with cosmetics that have been on our faces for many hours. The key to the effectiveness of any routine is to be consistent with it. Trust the process and don’t give up on being consistent with your morning and night routine.
New year, new expectations, dreams, and goals. Set your goal for more beautiful skin and make your beauty routine planner. Give yourself the gift of time for radiant and eye-catching skin. These were the steps that will lay the foundation for your new routine. Be confident and give yourself the time you deserve. Follow your beauty planner every day!
